Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 26, 2026
Tournament Builder LLC (“Tournament Builder,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use the Tournament Builder website, desktop software, account services, Live Brackets, subscriptions, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).
By using the Services, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you use Tournament Builder. Account information may include your name, email address, account credentials and authentication information, subscription status, account creation and activity information, license and device activation information, and communications you send us.
Payments may be processed by third-party payment processors such as Stripe. Tournament Builder may receive subscription status, payment status, transaction identifiers, billing history, and limited payment-method information. Complete payment-card numbers and security codes may be handled directly by the payment processor rather than stored by Tournament Builder.
2. Desktop Software and Licensing Information
When Tournament Builder communicates with our online systems, we may collect information reasonably necessary for licensing, authentication, device activation, software updates, security, and related functionality. This may include account identifiers, license or subscription status, device or installation identifiers, software version, activation status, request timestamps, and technical information used to authenticate an installation or detect unauthorized use.
3. Tournament and Player Information
Tournament directors may enter player names, handicaps or ratings, registrations, match results and scores, placements, tournament history, player auction information, Break & Run information, payout information, and other tournament-related information. Some of this information may be stored locally on the user's computer rather than on Tournament Builder servers.
4. Live Brackets and Public Information
Information intentionally published to a Live Bracket may include player names, matches, scores, tournament progress, tables, placements, or other tournament information. Live Brackets are designed to be viewed by tournament participants, spectators, and other people with access to the applicable page or link. Tournament directors should not publish sensitive or unnecessary personal information through Live Brackets.
5. Website and Technical Information
When you access our website or online Services, we or our service providers may automatically receive technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, pages or features accessed, date and time of access, referring information, session information, and technical logs relating to security, errors, or service operation.
6. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website may use cookies, session cookies, or similar technologies for sign-in sessions, security, preferences, account and subscription functions, and website operation. Third-party services may also use similar technologies subject to their own policies. Where required by law, additional notice or choices concerning non-essential cookies may be provided.
7. How We Use Information
We may use information to create and manage accounts; authenticate users; provide and validate licenses; manage device activations; provide subscriptions and trials; maintain subscription status; provide Live Brackets and software updates; provide support; diagnose problems; improve Tournament Builder; prevent piracy, fraud, abuse, or unauthorized access; protect our systems, users, and intellectual property; maintain business records; and comply with legal obligations.
8. How We Share Information
Tournament Builder LLC does not sell personal information to advertisers. We may share information with service providers that help provide payment processing, hosting, database infrastructure, email delivery, security, software distribution, error monitoring, and other technical infrastructure.
Information intentionally published through a public or shareable Live Bracket may be visible to others. We may also disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process, protect rights or property, investigate fraud, abuse, piracy, or security incidents, protect users or others from harm, or enforce our Terms. Information may also transfer as part of a merger, acquisition, financing, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to applicable law.
9. Stripe and Payment Processing
Tournament Builder may use Stripe or another payment processor to process subscription payments. Payment information submitted during checkout may be transmitted directly to the processor. Tournament Builder may receive payment and subscription information necessary to provide the customer's account and subscription. The processor's own privacy practices also apply.
10. YouTube Videos and Embedded Content
Our website may contain embedded videos or content from third-party platforms such as YouTube. When you interact with embedded content, the third-party provider may receive technical information or use cookies or similar technologies according to its own privacy practices. Tournament Builder does not control independent third-party privacy practices.
11. Data Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Services, maintain accounts and subscriptions, fulfill the purposes described here, maintain business and transaction records, resolve disputes, prevent fraud or abuse, enforce agreements, and meet legal obligations. Cloud-hosted Live Bracket or tournament information may eventually be deleted following cancellation, expiration, termination, or prolonged inactivity. Users should not rely on our cloud services as permanent archival storage.
12. Data Security
Tournament Builder LLC uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. No internet service, computer system, or electronic storage method can be guaranteed completely secure. Users are responsible for protecting their passwords, computers, email accounts, and other credentials.
13. Your Choices and Requests
Depending on the Services and applicable law, you may be able to review or update account information, change your password, cancel a subscription, deactivate authorized devices, request account information, request correction of inaccurate personal information, or request deletion of certain personal information. Some records may need to be retained for transaction, tax, fraud-prevention, security, or legal purposes.
To submit a privacy request, contact [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity before completing certain requests.
14. Tournament Directors and Participant Information
Tournament directors determine which participant information is entered and, where applicable, published through Live Brackets. Participants with questions about information entered or published by a particular director should generally contact that tournament director first. Tournament Builder may assist with requests concerning information stored on our systems where appropriate and technically feasible.
15. Children's Privacy
Tournament Builder's account and subscription Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through account registration. Because directors may organize events involving minors, a participant's name or tournament information could be entered by a director. Directors are responsible for ensuring their collection, use, and publication of participant information complies with applicable requirements.
If you believe information concerning a child has been improperly submitted to our online Services, contact [email protected].
16. U.S. Operations
Tournament Builder LLC is based in Pennsylvania, United States. Information processed through our online Services may be stored or processed in the United States or other locations where service providers operate, subject to applicable law.
17. Do Not Sell or Share
Tournament Builder LLC does not sell personal information for monetary compensation. We also do not disclose personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as part of our current business model. If these practices materially change, this Privacy Policy and any legally required privacy choices will be updated.
18. Third-Party Links and Services
The website or software may contain links to third-party websites or services. Tournament Builder LLC is not responsible for the privacy practices of independent third parties. Users should review the privacy policies of services they choose to access.
19. Changes to This Privacy Policy
Tournament Builder LLC may update this Privacy Policy as the Services, business practices, technology, or legal requirements change. For material changes, we may provide notice through the website, software, account system, email, or another reasonable method where appropriate. The Last Updated date identifies the latest revision.
